This recipe is so easy!!
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla + enough evaporated milk to equal 1/3 cup
1/4 tsp salt
Melt butter and chocolate chips over hot water, or in microwave. Just do so at short intervals and stir frequently.
In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, evaporated milk and salt.
Add chocolate mixture to the sugar/milk mixture, stirring until well blended. You can add about a cup of chopped nuts if so desired. But why oh why people insist on ruining perfectly good chocolate with nuts, I’ll never understand. Spread in a buttered 8″ square pan. Chill for about 30 minutes.
I find it’s best to let it sit at room temp for about 10 minutes before cutting.
Store covered in refrigerator.
